The Quadriga's Return Atop the State Capitol

Mary Lahammer covers the restoration of the Quadriga, the famous crown jewel of the Minnesota State Capitol. The huge, irreplaceable golden horses statue created by Daniel Chester French (same sculptor as the Lincoln Memorial) was removed, restored and replaced. Because of its extreme value, the statue was stored off-site at and undisclosed location we visited during the $300 million restoration of the building.
