The "Mayor of Lowertown" Paints the Town Bright

Aiken has received numerous awards and honors, including The BUSH Visual Arts Fellowship, POLLACK KRASNER, MSAB Cultural Collaboration Grant and a Knight Arts Challenge Award with Walker West Music Academy. He was awarded the Guinness Book World Record for the most Lite-Brite Pegs ever used to create the painting, titled “FOREVER SAINT PAUL" (598,000-plus Lite-Brites went into the project). Permanently located in the Saint Paul Union Depot. He has exhibited and lectured nationally and internationally, including USA, Brazil, Nigeria, Ghana and China.

Presently he serves on the Board of the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and has a year-long installation at the McKnight Foundation in Minneapolis.
