Find Out How You Can Put the 'Citizen' in Citizen Science
The Twin Cities recently joined 150 other metro areas by participating in the "City Nature Challenge," a friendly competition in which city residents use their phones to capture and tag as many urban plant and animal species as possible. On the surface, it's all about having a good time, but underneath, this competition is part of the growing citizen science movement - a movement in which the power of the crowd provides the data and analysis needed to solve real-world scientific questions. David Gillette learned more about the power of this work on a recent edition of "The Wrap."
