Shanan Custer Just Wants to Keep Working

Writer, actor, director and Dudley Riggs Brave New Workshop alum Shanan Custer draws comedic inspiration from the mundane experiences in life.  When talking about her comedy Custer says, "I honestly find that most things in life you don't need to heighten." And audiences certainly respond to that sentiment when watching her shows. Custer explains that the biggest reward for her when she is performing her own material is hearing the laughter of recognition - when audience members turn to their partners in the audience and laugh because they can connect with what they see on stage.

Whether working with long time collaborator Carolyn Pool (Two Sugars, Room for Cream, Sometimes There’s Wine) or Madde Gibba and Emily Schmidt, Custer is constantly creating new work with heart and humor that entertain the masses.
